An Additional Day of Fun!!

The 46th Annual St. Paul Kirchenfest

For the first time the Kirchenfest will be a three-day event! Thanks to Blake Kohlbrecher and the chairpersons for taking the risk to add another day. So much preparation is invested for two days; why not three? Also, we will be adding new rides for children this year. There’s always something changing with the Kirchenfest – that’s what keeps it alive, new, and growing.

God willing, we will be welcoming and hosting more than 15,000 people during our upcoming annual Kirchenfest. This event has created many, many traditions among parishioners and folks in the Highland Community. The Kirchenfest brings people home from out of town to reunite with Highland families and friends and to support our parish.

I am excited to be a part of this event. The planning for the 46 th annual event has been in progress for several months and now it is upon us and will be here before we know it.  Much sacrifice is offered by so many to make our event a success.  I pray every parishioner will consider helping, if you are able. Here’s the set- up schedule:

Monday at 5:00pm – Food provided following set-up

Tuesday at 5:00pm – Food provided following set-up

Wednesday at 5:00pm – This is now a definite set-up day. Food provided following set-up

Thursday at 5:00pm – Chicken for workers provided by Knights of Columbus

Monday, 8/29 8:00am-12:00pm – Clean-up, with lunch served at Noon

The commitment of our chairpersons is strong and their faith unwavering. Please help to make their job easier. More hands make lighter work for all! Thanks to our general chairperson, Blake (Patti) Kohlbrecher and our assistant chairpersons, Braden (Andrea) Henze, Jan Korte Couch (Cliff Couch) and Joe (Jessica) Horstmann. Call or email any of them to volunteer to help:

Let us all pray for favorable weather, safety for all and a very successful weekend.  I do not take for granted the awesome gift the Kirchenfest is to our parish.  Not only is it a great fundraiser, but an opportunity for us celebrate faith, family, friendship and have a great time. Invite your out-of-town family members and friends to our Kirchenfest! Send them a brochure or direct them to our Kirchenfest website at:

I join the parish staff and Kirchenfest chairpersons in thanking you ahead of time for your support of our 46th annual event. Please come join us in any way you are able.

Thank you so much, and may God give success to the work of our hands.
