KIRCHEN KORNER
44th Kirchenfest Aug 23rd & 24th
*** 12 days and counting ***
Do you often wonder what happens behind the scenes
at “Kirchenfest”? Do you realize the planning begins
shortly after Kirchenfest is over? Sure – we see the
many hands during the week of setup and over the
weekend of Kirchenfest but how does everything else
come together?
Now is a good time to reflect on those individuals we
refer to as the “unsung heroes” of Kirchenfest! We will
mention a few names but there are many – every person
that serves is an “unsung hero”. Lets start with Paul
Ray & Brad who provide the “infrastructure” of Kirchenfest.
Denise and Deanna’s guidance on the “inner workings”
of our garage. Howard who purchases our supplies
each year. Craig who has assisted in the garage for the
last 13 years. Patty’s family & friends who coordinate
headquarter operations. We chairs come and go –
these folks do it year in and year out. Other “unsung
heroes”:
● Our parish staff who supports us throughout the
year! You are the backbone of our success.
● Our many volunteers for “setup” week and “tear
down” Monday. You are the builders of our success!
● Our flea market and auction volunteers and their
countless hours collecting treasures of our parish!
● Our stand chairs – those who serve as chairs year
in and year out – which provides us a consistency
of service. And the new chairs who accepted the
challenge of chairing. You are the cornerstone of
our success!
● Our stand workers – whether it be one shift or
many shifts. You are the “hands and feet” of
Kirchenfest!
● Our beloved “Kirchenfeet” who are there when we
need them. You are the future of Kirchenfest!
Last and most importantly, the families of our four
chairs starting with our incredible spouses: Linda, Angi,
Patti & Andrea. They serve selflessly and with little
recognition but are instrumental to the success of
Kirchenfest. Jason and Trent (“gator” operators) – who
make the “load lighter for others”. Nolan and Gunnar –
who are willing to do what is needed at a moment’s
notice. We could not do it without you!

There are so many who serve selflessly – individuals
“who simply do what they do” to make our event the
best! Take time to thank them during the weekend.
WE APPRECIATE ALL OF THOSE WHO SERVE OUR
PARISH BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER KIRCHENFEST.
